There is nothing like failure occurs because every failure is a lesson to improve yourself.

Hi Kaitlyn! Thank you for reading my books and saying such kind things. I’m thrilled you found them helpful!

I would go with the small place, no question. 20 per room is way too many for a child your daughter’s age. And she definitely doesn’t need more “curriculum” than free play and socializing and building relationships with her caregivers.

Enjoy!
Warmly,
Janet

First of all – thankyou. I devoured your two books and instantly felt changed as a parent. You have made me a better mother.

I am currently choosing a child care centre for my 21 month old and would like your opinion.

I have two centre that I love. One is a larger (20 per room) centre, Reggio Emilia inspired family owned place with lots of activities, more children and more ‘stuff’, structure and ‘bells and whistles’. It is a lovely centre and very family oriented.

The second place acts as basically a family day care in a larger setting. The rooms are smaller, but has a lovely outdoor area, max of 8 people in the room and more of a ‘home away from home’.

My gal thrives in a family day care environment (has been in one for a year but we unfortunately have to leave) and I love the natural parenting aspect of FDC. I am leaning towards the smaller, more intimate, less ‘curriculum’ based centre, but am second guessing myself. What would you do in my situtation?

Thanks 🙂

Kaity.

This applies to all educators. see also:
