Such a helpful and inspiring response focusing on RIE’s underlying principles of respect for the child’s need to move and explore while at the same time offering parents guidance on how to keep their child as safe as possible when in a not in fully safe environment, i.e. the real world. Observing, anticipating and intervening only when necessary–gently, slowly with simple descriptive words. Trusting and enjoying the child who is “an initiator, an explorer and a self-learner”. I will recommend this post to families in my “Discover Your Baby” classes.
