This is where our anxiety should actually lie. We are on track for almost 3 degrees of global warming by the end of the century. This means food shortages, water shortages, lack of medicine, billions of people on the move to the global north and ultimately climate collapse which will translate as our children’s civilisation collapsing.
History will look back on us focusing on whether parents felt sleepovers and parties were a risk to our children and they will feel nothing short of dismay. Our children will just be angry and probably hateful towards us, that we weren’t able to identify and address the actual dangers they faced and take action when we could . In the main, parents do very little to address our children’s climate collapse and that’s why we will always be seen as a generation of failed parents.

I think one of things that gets missed is when the baby bumps their head on the floor is that though many parents respond unruffled in the oh you poor baby you bumped your head kind of way many others respond in the oh you’re fine shake it off no big deal kind of way and both are not as helpful as being the calm confident leader.
